Differences between the 2017 Land Rover Discovery and Discovery Sport

Apart from the price, there are some distinct differences between the Land Rover Discovery and Discovery Sport, which should help you figure out which of the two you would prefer. To start, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery is the larger and more powerful model and comes with 340 horsepower at the base level from its 3.0L V6 engine. The 2017 Discovery Sport, on the other hand, comes standard with 240 horsepower from a 2.0L I-4. While this is the only engine option in the Discovery Sport, the regular Discovery can also be equipped with a 3.0L Turbocharged Diesel engine.

Like we said previously, the Discovery is a bit larger and has seven full-size seats. The Discovery Sport can also seat seven, when the optional third-row seats are added, through the back two are more suited for children and teens instead of adults, particularly on longer drives. The two both offer considerable amounts of cargo room with all rear seats folded, with 82.7 cu.ft. of space in the Discovery and 60 cu.ft. in the Discovery Sport. No matter which model you choose, both will be more than ready to go off-roading and offer exceptional comfort to their occupants.
